Respite services provide relief to those caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias by providing time away from caregiving responsibilities. Here at Shining Light church, we have partnered with the Alzheimer's association to pilot a respite program here in Sarasota. We offer relief to caregivers by opening up the church on the second Wednesday of each month from 10:30am - 2:30pm for any individual dealing with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. During the allotted time, our team of trained volunteers will guide all the participants through fun activities, crafts, and live music. Lunch is also provided.
