How do I become a Worship Team Member/ Leader at SLC

invitation
BAND/VOCAL TEAM
Do you play an instrument or sing? At Shining Light Church we have many opportunities to play or sing for the glory of God. We are always looking for talented musicians to join us in leading God’s people in worship. In order to be part of the band or vocal team, we prefer that you be a member or pursuing membership at SLC.

Basic requirements:
You should be in agreement with our core beliefs and our culture of acceptance, passion, relationship and involvement.
We are looking for trustworthy, team-minded people who will take the commitment seriously. Maintaining a humble, teachable attitude is very important.
Previous experience on a worship team or in a band can be helpful but is not required. While there are similar principles used in most live music situations, every band or team experience is different. Be prepared to learn new ways of doing things with songs and approaches in reaching the goal of an impacting worship experience.

Time expectations:
We currently provide worship services on Sundays and Wednesdays. Singers and instrumentalist will be on a rotation throughout each month. Additional meetings you may be assigned for are Night of Worship (2 times per year), Christmas and Easter Special events and the Annual Ignite Conference. The Saturday night youth meeting also has a worship team that some may become a part of.

The time requirement for worship team members is approximately 6-8 hours a week when they are scheduled for the weekly services.
This includes our mandatory weekly Tuesday night rehearsals from 6:30pm to 9:00pm but does not include personal practice time.
When scheduled for Sunday Services we begin with a run-through at 9:00am and stay until service ends at approximately 12:30. For 7pm Wednesday night services we do a run through at 6:30pm.
